Explore the Island
Timanfaya National Park
25 minutes by car · Half day
The Fire Mountains are Lanzarote’s most iconic attraction. A coach tour takes you through a surreal volcanic landscape formed by eruptions in the 1730s. Watch geothermal demonstrations where water is poured into the earth and erupts as steam, and enjoy food cooked over volcanic heat at the restaurant. Camel rides are available at the park entrance.
La Graciosa Island
45 minutes by car + ferry · Full day
The smallest inhabited island in the Canary Islands, La Graciosa is a true escape. Take the ferry from Órzola and spend the day exploring pristine sandy beaches, cycling sandy tracks, and enjoying fresh seafood in the tiny village of Caleta de Sebo. No tarmac roads and no high-rise buildings — just pure island bliss.
Teguise Sunday Market
15 minutes by car · Half day
The largest market in the Canary Islands transforms the historic former capital every Sunday morning. Hundreds of vendors fill the cobbled streets selling handmade crafts, local produce, clothing, jewellery, and souvenirs. The town itself is beautiful, with colonial architecture and charming cafés perfect for a mid-morning break.
Jameos del Agua
20 minutes by car · 2-3 hours
One of César Manrique’s masterpieces, Jameos del Agua is a stunning volcanic cave transformed into a cultural centre with tropical gardens, a crystal-clear underground lake, and a concert hall. Look out for the unique blind albino crabs that live nowhere else on Earth. The beautifully landscaped grounds include a swimming pool and restaurant.
Cueva de los Verdes
20 minutes by car · 1-2 hours
Venture underground into one of the longest volcanic tunnels in the world. Guided tours take you through dramatically lit caverns and passages formed by lava flows thousands of years ago. The tour includes a remarkable optical illusion that is not to be missed. A fascinating geological experience.
Mirador del Río
30 minutes by car · 1 hour
Perched on a 475-metre clifftop, this spectacular viewpoint designed by César Manrique offers panoramic views across to La Graciosa and the smaller islands of the Chinijo Archipelago. The building itself is an architectural marvel, seamlessly integrated into the rock face with a café inside.
La Geria Wine Region
20 minutes by car · Half day
One of the most extraordinary wine regions in the world, La Geria features vines planted in hollows dug into volcanic ash, each protected by a low semicircular stone wall. Visit the bodegas for tastings of the island’s distinctive Malvasía wines. The landscape is utterly unique and incredibly photogenic.
Jardín de Cactus
15 minutes by car · 1-2 hours
César Manrique’s final major work is a beautifully designed cactus garden built in an old quarry. Home to over 1,400 species of cacti from around the world, the terraced amphitheatre garden is a photographer’s dream. The restored windmill at the top and the on-site café make it a thoroughly enjoyable visit.
